Christmas Cards – Made in U.S.A.

On a recent search for Christmas cards, I thought it would be nice to buy American made cards. I thought I’d put together a list of what I found. Of course this is just a sampling. Anyone know of others?

Made in Illinois:
Stockwell Greetings (Chicago, IL)

Fantus Paper Products (Chicago, IL)

Just a Few Cards (Rockford, IL)

Made in USA:
Greenfield Paper Company – Very interesting products including cards you plant in your garden!

Retro Christmas Cards

Leanin’ Tree: “All greeting cards and envelopes are printed in Colorado on recycled paper using soy-based inks.”

Pumpernickel Press: “Our goal is still the same today as when we began in 1998, to inspire individuals with unique, high quality greeting cards that are eco-friendly and made right here in the USA.”

Most of the Hallmark boxed Christmas cards are made in China. However, the Hallmark UNICEF boxed Christmas cards are still made in the USA. I hope to make this a “Made in USA Christmas” in 2011 for my family.

  4. Carolyn says:

Also Made in the USA are Leanin Tree boxed Christmas cards, printed in Boulder Colorado. Yesterday I bought a box of Leanin Tree Christmas cards at a Bob Evan’s restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee while visiting relatives there.

  5. Segeny says:

Thanks for the information. I’ve been trying to find Christmas cards that are ‘made in the USA’, but nearly ALL the cards I’ve seen are made in China. How’s that for irony: a country that prohibits the open worship by Christians has the corner on Christmas cards in a Christian nation (despite what Obama said).

  6. Jackie Wilcox says:

Thanks for the info. I also have been trying to find boxed cards made in the USA but could only find single ones. The Leanin’ Tree website didn’t list boxed either, only single. American Greetings cards are made in Ohio but the boxed ones are printed in China. I see here that Stockwell only sells to retailers.

  7. Armstead says:

DECEMBER 2011, I bought Christmas cards made in the USA, UNICEF some of the proceeds from sales of these cards go to help children, the back of the card is, Unicef seeks to end the trafficking of over a million children each year and return them to the families who miss them. On the back of the box they come in, it says, The purchase of this box of cards can help UNICEF provide Vitamin A doses to boost 108 children’s immune systems and preserve their sight for an entire year. I bought these cards a Crown Hallmark Store. They also a some boxed Hallmark Christmas cards that are made in the USA, but you have to look on the back of the box to make sure it says made in the USA, some Hallmark boxed cards had made in China check to back of the box before you buy them.

  10. Cheryl S. says:

I’m proud to say that my Lucky Ginger Studio line (which has fabulous Christmas cards and other fine gifts) is 100% made in the USA – down to the adhesives and packaging. The line was borne from my frustration with cards printed in China and Korea. Come over and shop the selection!

Thanks for the Website. I’m still trying to find a card made in the USA with a Madonna and Child or Nativity theme from one of the old masterpieces of art. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
